David Wilkinson Pretty Things Frightening Shapes September 19th – October 10th the third space is delighted to present an exhibition of new work by Budapest based artist David Wilkinson. “In a search for narrative we leave no stone unturned. We make stories from the shape of clouds, dream's that turn our morning slumbers into rites of passage. One could argue that the whole of art history is an attempt to impose the order of narrative upon the velocity of escape. But without these narratives where would we be? We are story tellers one and all.” Wilkinson’s new installation ‘Pretty Things Freighting Shapes’ is a mixing of narrative and event's, a dystopian landscape, inhabited by sausage like forms. The sausage people struggle with the consequences of there actions, some are more human than others, or so it seems. Narrative is suggested but never resolved into endings, a story leads to another story, no conclusion permitted. A mixture of materials and mediums, some old work made new, creating a kind of art stew.
